Baldwin Retirement Complex: Keeping Seniors Warm and Safe

DCCF September 2017 Community Grants supported the purchase and installation of 24 energy efficient secondary space heaters in apartment unit bedrooms at the Baldwin Retirement Apt. Complex, Inc. dba Orchard Lane Leisure Living & Jersey Street Apartment Suites.  We are proud to partner on making this possible to keep Baldwin City senior citizens safe and warm with these cost saving heaters.

“Twenty-four apartment units have benefited from the new installation. Each unit houses anywhere from one to two tenants–occasionally three. All tenants now have heat accessibility in their homes, where previously there were a number of apartments which did not even have heat available in the bedrooms/bathrooms. Everyone may have a warm bedroom and bathroom without the fear of running up a high electric bill and without concern of a fire-risk which was presented with the old radiant baseboard heaters. This safe and energy efficient improvement will actually benefit countless tenants over years to come in the form of home comfort and lowered utility expense.” – From the Baldwin Retirement Apt. Complex, Inc. dba Orchard Lane Leisure Living & Jersey Street Apartment Suites 2017 September Community Grant Report
