Our Community Grants support a wide range of local projects in the areas of arts and culture, children and youth, community development, education, health, housing and human services.
For Spring 2019, the deadline will be Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11:59PM.
There will be a spring and fall cycle each year, and generally the deadline will be on or around February 1 and September 1 at 11:59PM. If the first falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the next business day.
Organizations may apply once per calendar year.
Applications are available on our website six weeks before each grant deadline. Applications may be submitted until 11:59 p.m.on the due date. However, we strongly recommend that you submit your application by 4:00 p.m. If you encounter technical problems during submission, our staff will be in the office and available to help you. Staff support is not available after 5:00 p.m. Applications that have not been successfully submitted by the deadllne will be considered ineligible.
All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, tribal entities and local governments may apply. Work must primarily benefit residents of Douglas County, Kansas. Organizations must conduct business without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability or national origin.
Upcoming Grant Information Sessions
Whether you are new to grant writing or are experienced, we strongly encourage you to attend one of our upcoming grant-seeker information sessions. The sessions are open to anyone. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to schedule one-on-one time with Lori Trenholm. We want to help Douglas County nonprofits become better grant writers! Sessions are scheduled and conveniently located in both Lawrence and Baldwin City.
