Receiving/Submitting Applications
Q.) When is the 2008-2009 grant application due?
A.) By 5:00 p.m., December 1, 2008. Late applications will be considered ineligible.


Writing/Compiling Applications

Q.) Will foundation staff review and give feedback on draft proposals?
A.) Yes. Please e-mail drafts to marilynhull@dccfoundation.org by November 24. We will try to be as helpful as possible, but cannot promise that our suggestions will lead to approval of your proposal.

Q.) Can letters of support be sent separately?
A.) No, letters of support will not be considered if sent under separate cover.

Q.) Can we exceed four pages for the narrative?
A.) No. Try to be as concise as possible.

Q.) Should we include a cover letter?
A.) No, please make the application cover sheet the first page of your submission.

Q.) What do you mean by measuring success?
A.) We are looking for clearly stated objectives, e.g. parents reading more to children, families getting library cards, increased employment, etc. It is important that strategies for measuring the achievement of objectives are included in your proposal.

A.) Use the OTHER category.

Q.) My organization can be defined by several categories. Which should we choose?
A.) Choose the category that is most descriptive.

Attachments
Q.) Do attachments need to be double-spaced?
A.) No, attachments do not have to be double-spaced.

Budget
Q.) What is meant by "other funding sources"?
A.) Other funding sources may include federal, state, or local government, foundations, or community organizations who are considering giving support to this program.
