Upcoming workshop focuses on advocacy

Advocacy 101: What Can Nonprofits Do? is the topic of a March 13 brown-bag workshop for nonprofit leaders.

Suzanne Wilke, Director of Policy and Research for Kansas Action for Children, will explain IRS rules governing the activities of nonprofits in the public policy arena.

The free session will be in the auditorium of the Lawrence Public Library from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reservations are not required.

The program is one in a series of capacity-building workshops for nonprofit leaders presented by the United Way of Douglas County, the Douglas County Community Foundation and the Lawrence Public Library.
