The Board of Directors of the community foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of two new staff members, Heather Hoy and Lori Trenholm.
Heather will oversee donor relations and communications. Most recently, Heather was director of development for the Lawrence Arts Center. She has experience working with a wide range of constituent groups including: nonprofit boards and staff; business leaders; patrons of the arts; university faculty and staff; as well as city, county and state government officials. Heather is looking forward to connecting with donors and community organizations to provide information, access, and opportunities to collaborate with the community foundation to do the most good for Douglas County. Lori will oversee all grantmaking, nonprofit relationships, and donor and grantmaking technology. Lori has extensive and diverse community foundation experience, including collaborations with diverse stakeholders to increase social impact, and assist nonprofits with evidenced-based outcomes. She will be handling the grant process for community organizations, as well as training opportunities and facilitation for nonprofit boards of directors and staff. Lori and her husband, Shaun, are also small business owners in Douglas County who believe in giving back to community organizations through their business success. Program and communications officer Marilyn Hull’s last day is December 29. She is leaving the community foundation to establish a nonprofit consulting practice.
