35 Nonprofits Get Grants
Grants totaling nearly $146,000 have gone out to 35 nonprofit community organizations as a result of the foundation's annual open proposal review.

The grants will benefit programs that serve children, families, and low-income individuals with health or housing needs. Local arts and cultural projects also received funding.


McGrew and Simons Join Board
Mike McGrew and Dolph Simons, Jr. recently accepted invitations to join the community foundation board of directors. McGrew is Chairman and CEO of McGrew Real Estate. Simons is Chairman of the World Company and Editor of the Lawrence Journal World.

Three ways to invest in the future of Douglas County residents through your community foundation:

Donate Online
Simply click on the Donate Online button on this page, choose one of the 33 Douglas County charitable funds listed, and provide your credit card information. We'll mail you an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes, and notify the organization of your gift.

Mail
Mail a check made payable to the Douglas County Community Foundation to 900 Massachusetts, Suite 406, Lawrence, KS  66044. Please let us know if you want to support a particular fund, such as the Fairy Godmother Fund or our Fund for Children.
