Growing and giving forward: Alexander/Eason Family Fund

Posted Thursday November 17, 2022

The Alexander/Eason Family Fund of DCCF started with proceeds from the donation of Iowa farmland.

“Dad retired from banking, started buying up farmland in Nebraska and Iowa, and he’s been very successful with those investments,” said Becky Eason. Dudley and Virgie Alexander raised Becky and her brother Perry to value helping others. Giving back was a priority.

Now as a family, through their donor-advised fund, Becky and her husband Doug, Perry and his wife Pam, and Virgie and Dudley are making a difference together for nonprofits locally, nationally, and even internationally with grant support. “We considered starting a private family foundation, but after considering the work DCCF does, it made sense to leave the administrative work to them. With their support, we can focus on charitable giving, and make sure we are being intentional about supporting causes that are important to us,” Becky said. “When it became important to my family to help children in Ukraine, we relied on DCCF to do the due diligence and research for us to find the right nonprofit for our philanthropic dollars.”

“By investing our charitable dollars at DCCF, we are able to combine our efforts with generous people across our community to do good.”
