DCCF Announces 2019 Mary & Wint Winter, Jr. Family Fund Grant Award Recipients

A grant program designed to support projects and programs dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of at-risk and vulnerable populations awarded nine projects for a total of $70,000 in grant support. Established in 2019, Winter Family Fund grants are focused on the designated geographic areas of Douglas, Franklin, and Johnson Counties, Kansas, and in Taos County, New Mexico.
Grants were awarded in Douglas County, Taos County, and Colorado. Amount Awarded

Lawrence Public Library Foundation received $3,800 for 2020 Census Accessibility for All Douglas County Residents.

Community Children’s Center received $5,000 for Making Smart Connections: Expanding Trauma-Informed Services for Young Children and Families.

FULL CIRCLE TENANT SERVICES INC received $3,500 for Full Circle Scholarships.

Lawrence Arts Center received $7,000 for the Lawrence Arts Center Financial Aid Fund.

Family Promise of Lawrence received $10,000 for HUMI – 2 Year Community Challenge.

Lawrence Schools Foundation received $10,000 for the IC.A.N Classroom Angel Network.

DreamTree Project in Taos received $12,000 for a Teen Shelter and Housing Expansion.

Ballard Community Services received $12,700 for Transforming Children’s Lives.

Go 4 Graham in Colorado received $2,500 to help those suffering from depression, anxiety, and other brain disorders.

Landen Lucas Foundation received $3,500 for the Edgewood Sports For Life Scholarship Fund.
