Growing Food Growing Health is committed to helping feed and nurture our community. Paid youth gardeners develop as inspiring leaders while they grow, harvest, and help feed our community by sharing fresh produce at no cost through a partnership with the Ballard Center Pantry.
Student-grown produce also supports Ballard’s commitment to providing fresh foods to children in their daycare program. Since its establishment in 2010, over 45,000 lbs. of produce have helped nourish families and individuals in need.
Produce is grown at the Growing Food Growing Health Garden on the grounds of West Middle School in Lawrence, Kansas.
