The Kansas Land Trust (KLT) conserves and protects lands of ecological, agricultural, scenic, cultural, and recreational significance. We work with voluntary landowners to develop conservation easements which protect critical natural areas. Today KLT has developed 80 conservation easements protecting over 40,000 acres– a conservation footprint nearly the size of Topeka. In Douglas County, we conserve over 900 acres (and counting!) and are striving to protect more lands that increase responsible public access and help mitigate the impacts of climate change. The Kansas Land Trust is accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission and earned a platinum seal of transparency with GuideStar.
