The Shepheard-Parkin Memorial Scholarship was established in gratitude to the positive experiences West Franklin Unified School District (USD) 287 provided to members of our family, and in loving memory of family members who have attended, been employed by, or whose lives were influenced by USD 287. The Shepheard-Parkin Memorial Scholarship seeks to honor family members by recognizing students whose accomplishments and behavior reflect values that are important to our family:
- Seek the truth & speak the truth.
- Have courage to stand for what is fair and just.
- Cultivate the mind because knowledge is power.
- Be a good neighbor and give back to the community.
- Work hard at whatever you are called to do.
The scholarship shall be awarded to a member of each graduating class at West Franklin USD 287 High School. The amount of the award will be $1,000.00. Any student pursuing educational or job development skills will be eligible for the scholarship. Strong consideration will be given to community involvement, financial need, and applicants’ Personal Statement of Purpose in awarding the scholarship.
