The Steve Nowak Museum Fund was set up in honor of Steve Nowak, the Executive Director of the Douglas County Historical Society, in recognition of his ten-year anniversary at the Watkins Museum. Under Steve’s leadership, the Watkins Museum has experienced remarkable growth, including the installation of permanent exhibits that tell the stories of Lawrence and Douglas County in creative and interactive ways. This fund will allow Steve to complete special projects at the Watkins Museum that will continue to enhance the visitor experience.
